I have completed my first week of training for work and I have discovered that I work for Scorpio. Scorpio is a character from the Simpsons (he was in only one episode) who was kinda like a James Bond villian, but really cared about his employees, as they tell you in his theme song: "His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world and his employees health". It is a wonderful place to work. For example - they pay you for car pooling. Well, not in money exactly, but gift cards. You can get up to $140 in gift cards a month just for car pooling. I want to do it to get the grocery store cards - I wouldn't have to pay for groceries! And they really do care abou their employees health - they have a great insurance program, aaand they pay for your memebership to the fitness club of your choice. But wait their's more! As Scorpio's theme goes - "He'll welcome you into his layer, like the nobleman welcome's his guest/with free dental care and a stock plan that helps you invest!" - well, the dental plan isn't free, but it's the cheapest insurance, but the stockplan is spot on - after you've been there for a year the company will match your 401k for up to 6%! That's amazing!

Other than gusing about work - mostly when my mom calls so I can assure her that I'm not a tele-marketer, I really haven't been doing much and that drives me crazy! I was hoping to be much further along in my thesis by now! I really need to get my own computer to do research and start writting. When I was at home all the time, we didn't have the reliable internet connection, and now that I work all day, by the time I get home Rob's usually doing homework or something on the computer. Next week we go to Bellingham for a mini vacation that I won last year and I'm probably going to get one then. Once I have my own computhingy, not only will I be a lean mean thesis writting machine, I'll also get an IM so I can keep in touch with everyone better.

Has anyone ever seen an icecream vending machine? They have one at work that has Good Humor bars in it and Peace Pops. I was wondering if anyone knew if the Jim Henson Company's new movie Mirror Mask is going to be released nationally.
